Viking Mines Secures Approval for Major Linka Tungsten Bulk Sample
Source: Kapitales Research
Viking Mines Limited (ASX: VKA) has received approval from the US Bureau of Land Management to collect a bulk sample of up to 1,000 short tons, or approximately 907 tonnes, from surface stockpiles at its Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada. Earlier sampling across the stockpiles returned an average grade of 0.4% WO₃ from 41 samples, with individual results reaching as high as 1.1% WO₃.
The approved bulk sample could potentially contain around 363 mtu of WO₃ based on the average grade. Viking now plans to identify suitable US toll treatment facilities to process the material and produce concentrate samples for assessment by Ammonium Paratungstate refineries and potential offtake partners.Next steps include organising collection, handling and transport of the material, continuing metallurgical testwork, and advancing drilling aimed at testing near-surface mineralisation around the historic Linka Mine. The approval represents another step in Viking's strategy to progress the project and assess potential commercial pathways for its tungsten stockpiles.
