Krakatoa Resources Limited Reports Strong Initial Drilling Progress at Zopkhito
Early-stage drilling at Krakatoa Resources Limited's (ASX: KTA) Zopkhito Antimony-Gold Project in Georgia has generated encouraging exploration outcomes, marking a positive start to the company's 2026 field program. Initial drilling has confirmed multiple zones of visually significant antimony mineralisation, supporting the continuity of the project's known quartz-stibnite vein system. Two surface diamond drill holes and four underground drill holes have been completed, with one surface hole intersecting a 2.86-metre mineralised interval that includes a 0.6-metre section of massive stibnite. Laboratory assay results are still pending, and the company has emphasised that visual observations should not be considered a substitute for assay data.
Through its ongoing drilling and geological assessment, the company is working to confirm earlier exploration findings, enhance its understanding of the mineralised system, and compile the information needed to define a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate in accordance with JORC 2012 standards. Krakatoa also plans to commence underground bulk sampling, metallurgical optimisation studies, and preliminary mining assessments while continuing environmental and permitting activities. Management expects a steady flow of exploration updates throughout 2026 as development progresses at the strategically important critical minerals project.
