Market Alert : Can the ASX 200 Maintain Its Upward Momentum Through Earnings Season?

ASX 200 Closed Higher By 0.41%; Lifted By Materials and Energy Sectors

By the end of the trading session on 27 September 2022, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended higher by 0.41% and settled at 6,496.20. Out of 11 sectors, 5 sectors closed higher along with the ASX 200.

The Materials and Energy sectors were the top 2 gaining sectors, gained 2.57% and 1.72% in their index values. On the other hand, the A-REIT and Telecommunication Services sectors were the top 2 declining sectors, declined by 2.17% and 1.04% in their index values.

Brainchip Holdings Limited (ASX: BRN) and Whitehaven Coal Limited (ASX: WHC) were the top gainers, with 7.228% and 6.826% growth in share prices, respectively. On the other hand, Core Lithium Ltd (ASX: CXO) and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Corporation Limited (ASX: FPH) were the top losers, with a 5.556% and 4.754% drop in share prices, respectively.
