Other Factors influencing the market:

  • Telix Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: TLX) jumped 16.3% to $16.70 at the time of writing after the biotech firm lifted its full-year 2025 revenue outlook. The company now expects to generate between $800 million and $820 million for the year ending December 31, 2025, reflecting stronger-than-anticipated performance.
  • DroneShield Limited (ASX: DRO) unveiled its new DroneSentry-C2 Enterprise software platform and confirmed receiving an initial order from a European client operating multiple sites along NATO’s eastern flank. Despite the milestone, shares slipped 9.6% to $5.10, as investors weighed the challenges of scaling the new system.
  • In commodities, oil prices retreated amid renewed U.S.–China trade tensions, which curbed appetite for risk assets. The International Energy Agency (IEA) also raised its projection for a record crude surplus, adding further downward pressure on prices.
  • Conversely, gold surged to a new all-time high, buoyed by geopolitical uncertainty and increasing expectations that the U.S. Federal Reserve will deliver two additional rate cuts later this year.
  • Across global markets, U.S. equities closed mixed — the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.45%, while the S&P 500 slipped 0.16% and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.76%.
  • In regional trading, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose 2.02%, whereas London’s FTSE 100 edged 0.03% lower.
