Market Alert : Can the ASX 200 Maintain Its Upward Momentum Through Earnings Season?

ASX/200 Closed Lower By 0.47%; Dragged down by Materials

By the end of the trading session on 19 September 2023, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended lower by 0.47% and settled at 7,196.60. Out of 11 sectors, 10 sectors closed lower along with the ASX 200.

The Energy sector was the top-gaining sector, gaining 0.21% respectively in their index value. Materials and A-REIT sectors were the top declining sectors, declining 0.77% and 0.73% respectively in their index values.

Silver Lake Resources Limited (ASX: SLR) and Ramelius Resources Limited (ASX: RMS) were the top gainers, with 5.113% and 4.642% growth in share prices, respectively. Weebit Nano Limited (ASX: WBT) and Core Lithium Limited (ASX: CXO) were the top losers, with 8.878% and 5.129% drop in share prices, respectively.
