By the end of the trading session on 04 April 2024, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended higher by 0.45% and settled at 7,817.30. All 11 sectors closed higher along with the ASX 200.

Information Technology and Utilities sectors were the top-gaining sectors, gaining 1.18% and 0.94% respectively in their index values.

Arcadium Lithium Limited (ASX: LTM) and Liontown Resources Limited (ASX: LTR) were the top gainers, with 6.289% and 5.217% growth in share prices, respectively. On the other hand, A2 Milk Company Limited (ASX: A2M) and Reliance Worldwide Corporation Limited (ASX: RWC) were the top losers, with 1.828% and 1.566% drop in share prices, respectively.

• National Australia Bank reports a 1.9% decline in February's building approvals, falling short of the anticipated 3% increase.
• The Dow dropped by 0.11%, while the S&P 500 and NASDAQ saw increases of 0.11% and 0.23%, respectively.
