Record FY26 ResultsCodan Limited (ASX: CDA) announced its FY26 full-year results on 20 August 2026, delivering substantial growth across its communications and metal detection operations. Group revenue increased 30% to AU$875.0 million, while EBIT surged 67% to AU$244.1 million. Net profit after tax climbed 69% to AU$175.2 million, slightly exceeding the guidance previously provided to the market. Communications and Detection Drive GrowthCommunications revenue rose 22% to AU$506.2 million, exceeding Codan’s FY26 target range of 15%–20%. Segment profit increased 45% to AU$156.0 million, while the profit margin reached 31%, achieving the company’s end-FY27 target 18 months early. The communications orderbook expanded 50% year-on-year to AU$380 million.
Metal Detection also delivered strong momentum. Revenue jumped 42% to AU$362.0 million, while segment profit advanced 65% to AU$162.4 million. Growth was supported by new products, including the GPZ8000 and Gold Monster 2000, alongside strong demand across Africa and other international markets. Cash Strength Supports ShareholdersCodan ended FY26 with net cash of AU$35.7 million, compared with net debt of AU$88.2 million at 31 December 2025, reflecting stronger second-half revenue and cash collections.
Shareholders also benefited from a fully franked FY26 dividend of 48.5 cents per share, up 70% from FY25. The final dividend of 29.0 cents per share is scheduled for payment on 16 September 2026. What Comes Next for Codan?The outlook remains constructive. Codan is targeting FY27 Communications revenue growth of around 20%, supported by unusually strong unmanned-systems demand. Minelab is also entering FY27 with positive demand for recently launched detectors. However, emerging electronics supply-chain constraints could influence execution.
