Nanosonics Targets FY27 Revenue Growth as CORIS Launch and AU$40 Million Buyback Advance

Nanosonics Targets FY27 Revenue Growth as CORIS Launch and AU$40 Million Buyback Advance Source: Kapitales Research

Highlights:

  • Nanosonics targets stronger FY27 revenue despite mounting margin pressures.
  • CORIS commercialisation approaches, potentially unlocking a second growth opportunity.
  • A fresh AU$40 million buyback signals confidence in financial resilience.

Nanosonics Reports FY26 Revenue Growth

Nanosonics Limited (ASX: NAN), an Australian medical technology company specialising in infection prevention, announced its FY26 financial results on 25 August 2026, reporting steady revenue growth alongside progress towards commercialising its CORIS System.

The company recorded annual revenue of AU$203.9 million, marking a 3% increase from the previous financial year, while growth reached 6% after adjusting for currency fluctuations. However, earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) declined 10% to AU$16.0 million, reflecting currency movements and continued investment in business expansion.

Trophon Expansion Strengthens Core Operations

The company's established trophon platform continued supporting operational growth, with several developments highlighting its commercial momentum:

  • Global installations: The cumulative installed base expanded 6% to 39,230 devices.
  • Device placements: Total placements increased 9% to 4,230 units.
  • North American upgrades: Upgrade volumes climbed 32% to 1,980 units.
  • Recurring revenue: Revenue increased 2% to AU$149.2 million.

The trophon-only business generated AU$50.6 million in EBIT, increasing 5% year-on-year and reinforcing its importance in financing future innovation.

CORIS Commercialisation Opens New Opportunities

Nanosonics is progressing towards the commercial introduction of its CORIS System, designed to automate flexible endoscope cleaning. Following regulatory milestones across Australia, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States, the company outlined plans to launch CORIS commercially in the UK, Ireland and Australia during the first half of FY27, followed by the United States. The initiative could diversify revenue streams beyond ultrasound probe disinfection.

FY27 Outlook and Investment Prospects

Nanosonics forecast FY27 revenue between AU$220 million and AU$228 million at constant currency, representing anticipated growth of 8%–12%. The company also announced a new share buyback of up to AU$40 million, supported by AU$155.2 million in cash and a debt-free balance sheet.

Looking ahead, sustained trophon demand and successful CORIS adoption could strengthen long-term growth prospects. However, rising commercialisation expenditure, tariffs and potential margin compression remain important considerations for investors.
