3 ASX Stocks Rise as Major Shareholder and Insider Filings Hit the Market

3 ASX Stocks Rise as Major Shareholder and Insider Filings Hit the Market Source: Kapitales Research

Highlights

  • A defence technology company gained a new substantial shareholder, a global asset manager holding 5.672% of its voting power.
  • A resources company confirmed that a major US financial group is no longer a substantial shareholder.
  • A fintech company's director filed notice to sell another 6,000 shares under a pre-arranged trading plan.

Three ASX-listed companies rose after new filings showed changes in who owns their shares. The updates, released between 23 and 24 September 2026, cover a large investor buying in, another stepping back, and a company director continuing a planned run of share sales. None of the filings relates to company operations, but they give investors a view of how major holders and insiders are positioned.

Share Price Update

  • Electro Optic Systems (ASX: EOS) shares last traded at AU$11.320, up AU$0.640 or 5.99% for the day.
  • Develop Global (ASX: DVP) shares last traded at AU$5.320, up AU$0.110 or 2.11% for the day.
  • Block ((ASX: XYZ) shares last traded at AU$108.330, up AU$2.209 or 2.08% for the day.

EOS: Vanguard Becomes a Substantial Holder

Electro Optic Systems Holdings Limited announced on 23 September 2026 that Vanguard Group had become a substantial holder on 18 September 2026. Vanguard has a relevant interest in 12,576,003 ordinary shares, giving it 5.672% of the voting power.

The shares are held through various Vanguard funds and accounts. The registered holders include JP Morgan Chase Bank, BNY Mellon, State Street Bank and Trust Company, and Brown Brothers Harriman.

Develop Global: State Street Drops Below Substantial Holding

Develop Global Limited received a notice dated 23 September 2026 confirming that State Street Corporation and its subsidiaries were no longer substantial holders from 21 September 2026. This followed State Street's previous notice lodged on 17 September.

The filing lists several changes in State Street's holdings, including share transfers, stock lending and movements in shares held as collateral. These types of changes often come from routine custody and lending activity rather than a deliberate decision to sell.

Block: Director Continues Planned Share Sales

Block, Inc. director Anthony M. Eisen filed a Form 144 with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on 24 September 2026. The notice covers a proposed sale of 6,000 shares, worth about US$447,480, through Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. The shares were granted to him by Block as restricted stock on 31 January 2022.

The filing shows a regular pattern of selling. Mr Eisen sold 6,000 shares on most trading days between late June and 23 September 2026, along with a few larger sales. In total, he sold about 578,000 shares over the three months. The sales are being made under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted on 2 March 2026, which sets trades in advance.

What to Watch

For EOS, investors may watch whether Vanguard increases its stake further. For Develop Global, later filings will show whether State Street's holding moves back above the 5% threshold, as lending-related positions can change often. For Block, more Form 144 notices are likely while Mr Eisen's trading plan remains in place.

Conclusion

These filings show three different ownership moves: a new large investor at EOS, a reduced institutional holding at Develop Global, and continued pre-planned selling by a Block director. Each gives shareholders useful information about who owns these companies, although none signals a change in the businesses themselves.
