BMC Minerals Reports High-Grade Silver and Zinc Intercepts at KZK Project

BMC Minerals Reports High-Grade Silver and Zinc Intercepts at KZK Project Source: Kapitales Research

Highlights

  • High-grade drilling at the Fuego Prospect returned 5.5 metres at 163 grams per tonne of silver and 6.4% zinc.
  • The Krakatoa Zone delivered a 25.1-metre massive sulphide intersection grading 180 grams per tonne of silver and 9.7% zinc.
  • A positive government Decision Document advanced the proposed ABM Mine towards its remaining permitting requirements.

BMC Minerals Ltd (ASX: BMC) outlined progress across its Kudz Ze Kayah (KZK) Project in Canada's Yukon territory in its June 2026 Quarterly Activities Report, released on 29 July 2026. The company reported high-grade silver-zinc mineralisation from drilling, progress on mine development preparations and regulatory milestones supporting the proposed ABM Mine.

The quarterly update highlighted the potential to expand the project's mineral resource base and strengthen the development outlook for the polymetallic operation. BMC's exploration strategy focuses on targets within five kilometres of the proposed mine, aiming to identify additional mineralisation that could potentially extend its operating life.

High-Grade Results at Fuego Prospect

Drilling at the Fuego Prospect, located close to the proposed ABM Mine, returned several significant massive sulphide intersections. One hole, K26-571, intersected 5.5 metres grading 163 grams per tonne of silver, 6.4% zinc, 0.9 grams per tonne of gold and 4.6% lead from 57 metres.

Other near-surface results included 4.5 metres at 78 grams per tonne of silver and 4.2% zinc from 15.5 metres, and six metres at 58 grams per tonne of silver and 4.8% zinc from 6.5 metres. The company said the results support its interpretation that the Fault Creek fault acted as a pathway for mineralising fluids. This geological understanding could help identify further mineralisation around Fuego and nearby exploration targets.

Krakatoa Drilling Supports Resource Growth Potential

At the Krakatoa Zone, drilling intersected 25.1 metres grading 180 grams per tonne of silver, 9.7% zinc, one gram per tonne of gold, 0.3% copper and 3.4% lead from a depth of 328 metres. The reported true width was approximately 19.8 metres.

BMC said drilling in this area is targeting extensions beyond the existing Mineral Resource, with the aim of potentially adding to the Indicated Resource that supports the underground component of the proposed mine.

The company's wider 2026 exploration program includes 20,000 metres of diamond drilling, supported by downhole electromagnetic, ground-based gravity and airborne magnetic surveys.

ABM Mine Advances Through Permitting

During the quarter, BMC received a positive Decision Document from the Yukon government and Canadian federal authorities. The milestone allows the project to progress through the permitting process for remaining approvals.

After quarter-end, the company also received a Type B Water Licence and a five-year Class 3 Quartz Mining Land Use Approval. BMC is targeting major permits and an updated feasibility study by the end of 2027 to support a Final Investment Decision.

Outlook

BMC continues to advance exploration, engineering and permitting at KZK, with further drilling planned at priority prospects. However, the proposed mine's development timeline remains dependent on securing the necessary approvals and completing the updated feasibility work.
