Highlights
Nuix returns to profit, placing the durability of its recovery in focus.
Neo expands rapidly, opening opportunities to deepen spending across its customer base.
Stronger cash generation supports expansion, while legal expenses remain a pressure point.
Annual Report Outlines Strategic Progress
Nuix Limited (ASX: NXL) outlined its financial recovery and technology priorities in its annual shareholder report released on 06 October 2026. The software company highlighted growing adoption of Nuix Neo, stronger cash generation and additional investigative capabilities following its acquisition of Linkurious.
Nuix develops tools that help organisations turn large volumes of complex information into usable evidence and insights. Its growth strategy centres on helping customers manage investigations, compliance requirements and increasingly sophisticated data challenges.
August Results Reveal Earnings Turnaround
The company’s FY26 results, announced on 24 August 2026, showed revenue climbed 18.8% to AU$263.2 million. Statutory net profit reached AU$16.4 million, reversing the previous financial year’s AU$9.2 million loss.
Nuix recorded adjusted management EBITDA of AU$59.8 million, representing a 60.4% increase compared to the previous year. The corresponding margin reached 22.7%, reflecting improved profitability as revenue expanded.
Annualised contract value increased 13.9% to AU$260.0 million. Excluding Linkurious, this measure grew 8.6%, distinguishing expansion in the existing business from the acquisition’s contribution.
Underlying cash flow rose 154% to AU$51.0 million. Closing net cash totalled AU$49.9 million following the acquisition, providing financial flexibility for further investment. No final dividend was proposed.
Neo Builds a Larger Customer Footprint
Nuix Neo generated annualised contract value of AU$78.5 million, increasing 179% and accounting for 30% of the group total. Its customer base expanded to 135, compared to 75 a year earlier.
Moving existing customers onto Neo was the largest growth contributor. New contracts and additional purchases by current users also supported expansion.
Separately priced artificial intelligence and visualisation features offer further opportunities to increase customer spending. Linkurious, acquired in April 2026, strengthens this offering by helping investigators identify and explore connections within complex datasets.
Outlook: Sustaining Growth Takes Priority
Management expects Neo to contribute most of Nuix’s annualised contract value over the medium term. Continued customer migration, broader feature adoption and successful integration of Linkurious will influence progress towards that objective.
Costs remain relevant to the recovery. Litigation and regulatory legal expenses increased to AU$13.0 million, compared to AU$10.6 million previously. Nuix’s future performance will depend on maintaining commercial momentum while preserving cash generation and controlling expenditure.
