3 ASX Resources Stocks in Focus: High-Grade Gold Hit, US Court Appeal and AU$10 Million Buy-Back

3 ASX Resources Stocks in Focus: High-Grade Gold Hit, US Court Appeal and AU$10 Million Buy-Back Source: Kapitales Research

Highlights:

  • A mining company and the US Government asked a US appeals court on 4 November 2026 to pause an injunction so work at a California project can resume.

  • A gold explorer reported a 14-metre drill intersection grading 231.67 grams per tonne on 29 October 2026, including one metre at 2,860 grams per tonne.

  • A gold company cancelled 3,336,570 shares for about AU$10 million under its on-market buy-back on 5 November 2026.

Introduction

Three ASX-listed resources companies released updates between 29 October and 5 November 2026, covering a legal bid in the United States, an exceptional drill result and a share buy-back. All three stocks were trading sharply higher in the latest session.

Stocks in Focus

  • Dateline Resources Limited (ASX: DTR) is currently trading at AU$0.085.

  • New Murchison Gold Limited (ASX: NMG) is currently trading at AU$0.064.

  • Pantoro Gold Limited (ASX: PNR) is currently trading at AU$3.270.

Dateline Resources Limited: Appeal Seeks to Restart Work

On 4 November 2026, Dateline Resources said it and the US Government each lodged motions with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals seeking a stay of a preliminary injunction while an appeal runs. The injunction followed a California District Court decision the previous Friday, and a three-judge panel will decide the stay request afresh. The motions argue that the merits, the harm caused by the injunction, the limited impact of resuming work and the national interest all favour a stay. Dateline maintains that a plan of operations approved in 1985 is a valid existing right that survived the creation of the Mojave National Preserve. The company owns the Colosseum Gold-REE Project.

New Murchison Gold Limited: Exceptional High-Grade Intersection

On 29 October 2026, New Murchison Gold reported a high-grade result from drilling beneath the Crown Prince open pit near Meekatharra in Western Australia. Hole CPRC030 returned 14 metres at 231.67 grams per tonne of gold from 80 metres, including one metre at 2,860 grams per tonne with visible gold in the drill chips. The company said this is the highest-grade one-metre sample in its Garden Gully drilling database, and the intersection sits outside the current resource, beneath the final pit shell. A nearby hole also returned 3 metres at 14.9 grams per tonne and 4 metres at 13.5 grams per tonne. Assays for several holes are still pending, and diamond drilling is planned as the company studies a potential underground mine.

Pantoro Gold Limited: Buy-Back Shares Cancelled

On 5 November 2026, Pantoro Gold lodged an Appendix 3H confirming it cancelled 3,336,570 ordinary shares that day under its on-market buy-back. The shares were bought between 7 and 12 October 2026 for a total of AU$9,999,999.75, which implies an average of roughly AU$3.00 per share. After the cancellation, Pantoro has 386,390,481 ordinary shares on issue, alongside 2,529,070 unquoted performance rights and 1,862,731 unquoted share rights. A buy-back reduces the number of shares on issue, so each remaining share represents a slightly larger slice of the company.

Outro

The updates show a legal fight over access to a mine site, an exceptional drilling result and a company returning capital to shareholders. Investors should read the full announcements and seek professional advice before making decisions.
