Brightstar Resources FY26 Results: Revenue Nearly Doubles as Gold Developer Advances Major Expansion
Source: Kapitales Research
Highlights
Brightstar Resources Limited generated FY26 revenue of AU$64.14 million, up from AU$33.51 million in FY25, while operational cash gross margin improved substantially to AU$18.56 million.
The company ended June 2026 with AU$122.0 million in cash and cash equivalents, alongside AU$160.9 million in restricted cash, providing substantial liquidity as development expenditure accelerates.
Construction of Brightstar’s 1.5Mtpa Laverton processing plant is underway, with first gold targeted for mid-2027 following the Goldfields Project’s Final Investment Decision.
Gold Sales Drive Strong Revenue Growth
Brightstar Resources (ASX: BTR) delivered a significant increase in operating revenue during FY26 as the Western Australian gold company continued its transition toward a larger-scale production platform. Revenue from customers reached AU$64.14 million, representing approximately 91% growth from AU$33.51 million a year earlier. Operations produced a cash gross margin of AU$18.56 million, reversing the AU$0.58 million cash gross loss recorded in FY25. During the year, Brightstar sold 14,419 ounces of recovered gold.
However, the company remained loss-making at the statutory level. Its FY26 loss after tax widened to AU$76.93 million from AU$46.07 million, partly reflecting AU$45.29 million of exploration and feasibility expenditure.
Production Portfolio Moves Toward New Infrastructure
Brightstar mined 244,500 tonnes of ore at an average grade of 3.04g/t gold from Second Fortune and Fish during FY26, containing approximately 23,892 ounces of gold. At year-end, its stockpiles contained another 7,261 ounces.
The company is reshaping production around its own processing infrastructure. Mining at Fish was paused in March 2026, with stoping planned to restart in early 2027, while Second Fortune ore has been stockpiled for future treatment at Laverton.
Laverton Plant Becomes the Key Growth Project
A major FY26 milestone was the Final Investment Decision for the Goldfields Project in May. Brightstar subsequently moved into full-scale construction of its 1.5Mtpa Laverton plant after securing key approvals and awarding an AU$110 million EPC contract to GR Engineering Services.
The updated development study envisages average gold production exceeding 75,000 ounces annually over an initial six-year mine life, with first gold scheduled for mid-2027.
Stronger Funding Position Supports Development Pipeline
Brightstar finished FY26 with AU$122.0 million of cash, compared with AU$11.7 million a year earlier. Including restricted cash, total cash resources stood at approximately AU$283 million. The company also repaid its US$11.5 million revolving facility during the year.
Beyond Goldfields, Brightstar continues advancing Sandstone. The company is targeting completion of the Sandstone Pre-Feasibility Study and maiden Ore Reserve during the December 2026 quarter, positioning the project as another potential production centre within its expanding Western Australian gold portfolio.
