Focus Minerals Posts AU$256 Million First-Half Revenue on Stronger Gold Output Source: Kapitales Research

Highlights:

  • Revenue from continuing operations for the half-year rose to AU$256.37 million, up from AU$77.73 million a year earlier.
  • Net profit after tax came in at AU$85.82 million, and operating activities brought in AU$87.44 million in net cash.
  • The Three Mile Hill plant treated over 705,000 tonnes of ore, and gold sales were about 30,997 ounces.

Focus Minerals Limited (ASX: FML) delivered higher revenue and renewed profitability from its continuing operations in its interim report for the six months to 30 June 2026. Dated 10 September 2026, the report covers the company’s earnings, gold processing, mining progress and balance sheet across its Western Australian assets.

Earnings Lift Sharply

Revenue for the six months to 30 June 2026 was AU$256.37 million, far above the AU$77.73 million recorded in the same period of 2025. Gold sales accounted for AU$252.20 million, with silver adding AU$0.73 million and toll treatment services AU$3.45 million. Profit after tax was AU$85.82 million, against AU$221.40 million in the prior period. That earlier figure was inflated by the sale of the Laverton Gold Project, which delivered an after-tax gain of roughly AU$207.15 million. The current result therefore shows continuing operations without a similar one-off disposal gain.

Operating activities produced a net cash inflow of AU$87.44 million, a turnaround from the AU$6.17 million outflow in the first half of 2025. At 30 June 2026, Focus held AU$122.15 million in cash and cash equivalents plus AU$94.90 million in short-term deposits due within a year. Net assets climbed to AU$453.89 million from AU$368.08 million at December 2025.

Operational Performance

Three Mile Hill processed 705,386 tonnes of ore over the period, made up of 644,842 tonnes from Focus’s own mines and 60,544 tonnes of third-party ore. The plant averaged 90% availability and more than 93% utilisation, with recoveries of 95% and a head grade of 1.85 grams per tonne. Gold sales were around 30,997 ounces at an average realised price of AU$6,768 per ounce, alongside roughly 6,282 ounces of silver credits.

The Alicia, CNX and Dreadnought open pits together yielded 481,723 tonnes of ore. At the Bonnie Vale Underground Mine, 3,145 metres of development was completed, and the mine produced 187,668 tonnes of ore. Resource work also continued at Bonnie Vale, Greenlight and Patricia Jean, with further drilling and assessments either under way or scheduled.

Balance Sheet and Outlook

The company ended June 2026 with no debt. Short-term deposits and net assets were higher, although cash fell from AU$129.81 million at the end of 2025. On 10 September 2026, Focus declared its first fully franked final dividend of 8 cents per ordinary share, payable on 1 October 2026. The report also pointed to continued efforts to advance mining and resource development at the Coolgardie Gold Project.

Conclusion

Focus Minerals’ interim results reflected stronger revenue, positive operating cash flow and ongoing mining and processing activity. Market attention will now turn to how production, resource growth and gold prices shape its performance in upcoming reporting periods.
