Highlights:

  • Group 6 Metals has started a voluntary AU$10.0 million prepayment of its senior secured loans, plus a AU$1.5 million repayment of bridging loans.
  • The total planned debt reduction of AU$11.5 million comes ahead of the 30 April 2027 maturity date.
  • Cash reached AU$54.1 million at 30 September 2026, up from AU$3.5 million at 31 December 2025.

Group 6 Metals Limited (ASX: G6M) announced on 30 October 2026 that it has begun repaying a substantial part of its borrowings ahead of schedule. The move follows a sharp rise in cash as the Dolphin Tungsten Mine on King Island, Tasmania, advances.

Senior Loans and Bridging Facilities

The company has started the process of an aggregate AU$10.0 million voluntary principal prepayment across its senior secured loan facilities. Payments will be shared proportionally among the lenders, in line with the facility terms. The senior loans would otherwise mature on 30 April 2027.

Group 6 Metals also intends to repay the AU$1.5 millions of bridging loan principal currently drawn. These facilities were provided by members of the Senior Lending Group during an earlier funding period, while operations were still stabilising. The September 2025 quarterly named Chrysalis Investments Pty Ltd, Abex Limited and Elphinstone Holdings Pty Ltd as providers, with a 12% interest rate and a 30 April 2027 maturity. The undrawn balance of the facility will remain in place.

A Stronger Cash Position

Cash holdings stood at AU$54.1 million at 30 September 2026. That compares with AU$3.5 million at 31 December 2025, AU$14.4 million at 31 March 2026 and AU$49.5 million at 30 June 2026. Total drawn debt eased from AU$25.4 million in December 2025 to AU$23.6 million in September 2026, based on the company’s quarterly reports.

The September quarter also delivered strong operating cash flow, and no bridging facility drawdowns were needed. The company said it will keep substantial liquidity to fund its investment requirements after the repayments.

Management Comment

Executive Chair Kevin Pallas said the repayment reflects a significant improvement in the company’s financial position and will cut future financing costs. He thanked the Senior Lending Group for its support through the recapitalisation and development phase.

Mr Pallas pointed to rising underground ore deliveries and higher-grade ore expected to lift blended plant head grade, calling this a strong platform for building production and long-term cash generation.
