Market Alert : Escalating Geopolitical Tensions in 2026: Implications for Investors and Global Markets

Is Linq Minerals Sitting on a Major Gold-Copper Discovery in NSW?

Source: Kapitales Research

Highlights:

  • Linq Minerals Limited (ASX: LNQ) reported strong gold-copper drill results at its Gilmore project in NSW, including a wide intercept of 144m at 1g/t AuEq from shallow depth.
  • Drilling confirmed thick, continuous porphyry-style mineralisation over a 300m strike, supporting the potential for a large-scale gold-copper system.
  • Management said the southern zone is shaping up as a significant mineralised district, with follow-up exploration planned next month.

Strong Drill Results Lift Confidence

Linq Minerals Limited (ASX: LNQ) has delivered encouraging early results from Phase One drilling at its Gilmore project in New South Wales, after intersecting thick zones of gold-copper mineralisation linked to a porphyry system. At the time of writing, the company said the results point to a potentially large and continuous mineralised system developing in the project’s southern zone. Four reverse circulation drill holes were carried out across the southern zone, covering the Gidginbung and Dam epithermal and porphyry targets. The opening hole at Dam returned a strong intercept of 144 metres at 1g/t AuEq from 84 metres, pointing to extensive shallow mineralisation.

Thick, Continuous Mineralisation Emerging

A step-out hole drilled 110 metres south of earlier drilling delivered similarly strong results, extending the known mineralisation along strike. This new data suggests Linq has now outlined continuous high-grade mineralisation across roughly 300 metres, with strong gold and copper values maintained over broad widths. The drilling showed porphyry-style quartz-sulphide veining in every hole before the rigs passed through a large geological structure that geologists believe forms the western edge of the mineralised zone. Several higher-grade zones were also identified within the broader intercepts, reinforcing the geological model of a robust gold-copper porphyry system at depth.

Why This Matters for Investors

Porphyry systems are prized because of their scale and long mine life potential. The combination of wide mineralised intervals, shallow depth, and consistent grades is particularly attractive for future development. Clive Donner said the results show the southern zone is shaping up as a significant mineralised district, with the Dam prospect standing out because of its location near the existing Gidginbung open pit. “With these results, we’re seeing a system with both size and quality,” he said, adding that follow-up exploration is planned next month. At the time of writing, Linq Minerals’ exploration success is positioning Gilmore as one of the more compelling emerging gold-copper projects in New South Wales — and one that the market will be watching closely.
