American Rare Earths Advances Rare Earth Leach Testing at Halleck Creek Project

American Rare Earths Limited (ASX: ARR) has made significant progress at its Halleck Creek Rare Earths Project in Wyoming, USA. A comprehensive metallurgical testing program conducted at SGS Lakefield, Canada, yielded praseodymium and neodymium leach recoveries of 85% and 84% respectively under optimal conditions. Heavy rare earth elements terbium and dysprosium showed recoveries of 52% and 46%. Crucially, impurity levels of iron and aluminum were significantly reduced—by 80% and 65%, respectively—compared to previous scoping studies. The preferred method, atmospheric tank leaching, proved more cost-effective and efficient than acid-bake techniques. This advancement is pivotal in de-risking the Cowboy State Mine’s processing flowsheet, with implications for U.S. rare earth independence and future Pre-Feasibility Studies. With promising metallurgical outcomes, ARR is poised to enhance its strategic role in critical mineral supply chains.
