Estrella to Begin Drilling at Werumata Limestone Project

Estrella Resources Limited (ASX: ESR) announced that at the time of writing it has received full approvals from the Timor-Leste Minerals Authority to commence maiden drilling at the Werumata Limestone Project in Baucau Municipality. Community consultations and environmental requirements have been completed, allowing immediate mobilisation.

The initial program will include 26 reverse circulation holes with follow-up diamond and infill drilling to evaluate high-quality limestone plateaus. Estrella is targeting a JORC-compliant inferred resource of 500 million tonnes, a key milestone under a master agreement with an international mining services partner that could secure exclusive marketing and offtake rights.

Site works have already begun, with drilling expected to start within two weeks. Assays of limestone samples confirm high-purity calcite content suitable for industrial uses such as pH control. A bathymetric survey is also planned to support potential port and infrastructure development.
