Market Alert: US Sets Tariff Floor at 15% – Potentially Rising to 50% from 01 August 2025
Everest Metals Corporation Ltd (ASX: EMC) has completed an Engineering Scoping Study (ESS) in collaboration with Edith Cowan University for its Mt Edon Critical Minerals Project in Western Australia. The study confirms the technical viability of the Company’s proprietary Direct Rubidium Extraction (DRE) process, which has achieved up to 97% rubidium recovery from primary ore. A provisional patent has been filed, with plans to move to a standard patent to secure intellectual property rights.
The ESS outlines the potential for a processing plant with a 750–1,000 tpa capacity, advancing the project toward commercialization. With a maiden resource of 3.6Mt @ 0.22% Rb₂O, Mt Edon contains over 7,900 tonnes of rubidium oxide. Further pilot-scale testing is planned and supported by strategic partnerships and funding applications, including MRIWA. EMC is positioning itself as a pioneering supplier to the rapidly growing global rubidium market, projected to reach US$7.2 billion by 2032.
