Galan Lithium Secures Strategic Edge with Argentina’s RIGI Approval

Galan Lithium Limited (ASX: GLN) has achieved a major milestone with its Hombre Muerto West (HMW) lithium brine project in Argentina receiving approval under the Argentine Government’s RIGI (Incentive Regime for Large Investments). This designation grants the project long-term fiscal and regulatory stability, including a reduced corporate tax rate, preferential foreign exchange access, and customs exemptions—key elements that support efficient project financing and execution.

HMW is set to begin Phase 1 production in early 2026, targeting 4ktpa of lithium chloride over a 40-year lifespan, with an offtake agreement already in place for 45,000 tonnes. Future expansion aims for 60ktpa by Phase 4. Positioned within Argentina’s premium lithium triangle, HMW offers first-quartile cost advantages and is ideally suited to meet global demand for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. With a total resource of 9.5Mt LCE across its HMW and Candelas projects, Galan is emerging as a major player in the global lithium supply chain
