Perseus Mining gains approvals for underground development at Yaoure Gold Mine.

Perseus Mining Limited (ASX: PRU) has received a Presidential Decree from Cote d’Ivoire’s President, His Excellency Alassane Ouattara, authorising the development and operation of the CMA underground project at the Yaoure Gold Mine. This approval follows the completion of an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and ministerial consent earlier this year, paving the way for the company’s first underground operation in the country.

With infrastructure works already completed and Byrnecut’s mining equipment commissioned, decline development will now commence. The CMA underground mine is expected to extend Yaoure’s life until at least 2035, with first ore production targeted for January 2026 and commercial production scheduled for March 2027. Perseus will invest around US$170 million in the project, marking a significant milestone in its partnership with the Ivorian government and reinforcing the country’s growing mining sector. This development provides access to new ore sources and supports long-term value creation.
