Southern Hemisphere Identifies High Grade Oxide Copper at Surface.
Southern Hemisphere Mining (ASX: SUH) has reported the discovery of high-grade oxide copper at surface during drill-pad preparation at the Ferro South prospect, part of the Llahuin Copper-Gold-Molybdenum Project in Chile. Field teams identified strong copper oxide minerals, including chrysocolla and atacamite, hosted within fractured and altered rock. A pXRF reading of 15% Cu highlights enriched near-surface mineralisation, with samples now dispatched for laboratory assays.
This unexpected discovery strengthens SUH’s interpretation of a robust, shallow copper system with potential for low-strip, early-stage development. Upcoming drilling will target strike extensions, depth continuity, structural features and potential connections to the broader Llahuin system, including the large MT anomaly to the west. Further updates will follow as drilling advances and assay results are released.
