Sparc Technologies and Detmold Packaging Partner to Develop Graphene-Enhanced Sustainable Packaging

Sparc Technologies Limited (ASX: SPN) has entered a Collaboration Agreement with Detmold Packaging, a global leader in sustainable paper and board packaging, to explore the development of advanced paper packaging products incorporating Sparc’s graphene additives. The partnership aims to enhance the performance of Detmold’s packaging solutions by improving properties such as barrier resistance, strength, flexibility, weight, and durability.

Under the 24-month agreement, Sparc will produce and test graphene-enhanced polymers, while Detmold will integrate these into its packaging and conduct industry-standard testing. Though the short-term financial impact is minimal, the collaboration is strategically significant for Sparc’s expansion into adjacent polymer markets beyond epoxy coatings. Future commercialisation will depend on pilot trials and a separate agreement. This partnership marks a critical step in Sparc’s commitment to sustainability and innovation through advanced materials like graphene.
