Strategic Energy Resources Secures High-Potential Diamantina Copper-Gold Project

Strategic Energy Resources Ltd (ASX: SER) has acquired 100% of the Diamantina Copper-Gold Project in western Queensland from Anglo American. This strategic move enhances SER’s control over the southern extension of the Mt Isa Eastern Fold Belt, a globally renowned metallogenic region. Diamantina, comprising two granted exploration licences and three pending applications, spans over 1,500 km². Drilling at the Elizabeth Springs East prospect revealed significant mineralisation, with intercepts such as 17.4m at 1.76% Cu and 0.37g/t Au. The project area also exhibits extensive geophysical anomalies, pointing to untapped IOCG-style mineral potential. Under the acquisition terms, Anglo American will receive cash, shares, and a net smelter royalty, while SER commits to invest AU$1 million in exploration over two years. Field activities are scheduled to commence post-tenement transfer and land access approvals, with drilling expected in early 2026. This acquisition marks a bold step in SER’s pursuit of Australia’s next major copper-gold discovery
