Super Retail Group Delivers Resilient 1H FY26 Performance Amid Elevated Investment
Super Retail Group (ASX: SUL) reported first half FY26 sales of AU$2.2 billion, reflecting 4.2 per cent growth with like-for-like sales up 2.5 per cent in a competitive retail environment. Online sales rose 9 per cent to AU$312 million, representing 14.2 per cent of total sales, while active club membership increased to 13 million, strengthening customer engagement across brands.
Profitability moderated during the period. Normalised profit before tax declined to AU$173.0 million, while normalised net profit after tax decreased to AU$121.9 million. Statutory net profit fell to AU$104.1 million, reflecting elevated promotional intensity, higher operating costs and incremental project expenses linked to the new Victorian distribution centre and HR systems upgrade.
Performance across divisions was mixed. Supercheap Auto and Macpac delivered solid earnings growth, partially offset by softer results from rebel and BCF. Despite lower profit year-on-year, the Group maintained a strong balance sheet with approximately AU$108 million in cash and declared a fully franked interim dividend of 32 cents per share.
