Tivan and Sumitomo Forge Second Strategic Partnership for Sandover Fluorite Project.

Tivan Limited (ASX: TVN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation to explore a potential joint venture for the Sandover Fluorite Project in the Northern Territory. This marks the second collaboration between the two companies following their agreement on the Speewah Fluorite Project in Western Australia. The MoU outlines plans for joint development, financing, and operation of the Sandover project, subject to successful completion of a Pre-Feasibility Study.

Tivan, which acquired the high-grade fluorite asset in November 2024, is currently advancing surface sampling, environmental licensing, and cultural clearances. The project targets both metspar (CaF₂ >80%) and acid-grade fluorspar (CaF₂ >97%) production. The MoU grants Sumitomo exclusive discussion rights and first refusal, with formal agreements to be negotiated. This partnership underscores Tivan’s leadership in Australia’s fluorite sector and strengthens bilateral ties in critical minerals with Japan.
