Market Alert : Crude Oil Prices Decline on Easing Geopolitical Risk and Emerging Supply Expectations

ASX 200 Ended Higher; Lifted By A-REIT And Consumer Discretionary Sectors

By the end of the trading session on 15 August 2022, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 ended higher by 0.45% and settled at 7,064.30. Out of 11 sectors, 9 sectors closed higher along with the ASX 200.



The A-REIT and Consumer Discretionary sectors were the top 2 gaining sectors, gained 2.04% and 1.38% in their index value. On the other hand, the Energy and Financial sectors were the top 2 losing sectors, declined 0.83% and 0.21% in their index values.



Champion Iron Limited (ASX: CIA) and Carsales.com Limited (ASX: CAR) were the top gainers with 6.400% and 5.773% growth in share prices, respectively. On the other hand, Beach Energy Limited (ASX: BPT) and Zip Co Limited (ASX: ZIP) were the top losers, with an 11.082% and 8.537% drop in share prices, respectively.

  • Dow has closed up 1.3%, S&P 500 up by 1.7%, and NASDAQ closed higher by 2.1%.

  • Hang Seng is down 0.54%, and FTSE 100 is up by 0.19%.
