Market Alert : Crude Oil Prices Decline on Easing Geopolitical Risk and Emerging Supply Expectations

ASX 200 moves up marginally; IT sector was the top gainer

By the end of the day’s trade on 23 March 2022, benchmark index ASX 200 gained 0.501% from its previous close and settled at 7377.9. The index has set a new 20-day high on this date. Out of 11 sectors, ten sectors ended higher along with ASX 200.



The information sector was the top gainer with a 3.47% growth in the index value. The index settled at 1822.1. From this sector, players like Zip Co Limited (ASX: Z1P) were the top gainers with 7.189% and 6.122% in the share prices, respectively. The performance of the index was probably driven by the performance of the NASDAQ 100 index the previous day.



The Financial and the utilities sectors were the next two best performers with 0.987% and 0.861% growth in the index values, respectively.

  • All ordinaries index gained 0.58% to 7,665. It made a new 20-day high.
