By the end of trading session on 19 September 2025, benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed 0.32% higher at 8,773.50. Out of 11 sectors, 07 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Healthcare and Information Technology were the top-gaining sectors, gaining 0.91% and 0.85% in their values. On the other hand, Telecommunications Services and Consumer Staples were the top-losing sectors, losing 0.t% and 0.38% in their values

Generation Development Group Limited (ASX: GDG) and Telix Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: TLX) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 6.782% and 6.369% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Genesis Minerals Limited (ASX: GMD) and Iluka Resources Limited (ASX: ILU) are the top-losing stocks, losing 4.717% and 4.424% in their stock prices.

  • AGL Energy’s share price edged up 0.3% to $8.73 after receiving federal approval, alongside partner Someva Renewables, for a wind and battery storage project.
  • Regis Resources rose 1.6%, even as UBS downgraded the stock to a “sell” following its recent price surge.
  • Super Retail Group, owner of Rebel Sport, slipped 4.8% over the past week after CEO Anthony Heraghty was dismissed for misleading the board about an alleged relationship with the former HR chief.
  • Gold prices remained under pressure as a stronger US dollar and uncertainty around future Federal Reserve rate cuts weighed on recent gains.
  • Oil prices held steady on Friday after a previous session decline, as concerns over US fuel demand overshadowed the Fed’s first rate cut of the year.
  • Global equity markets were mixed: the Dow Jones gained 0.57%, while the S&P 500 dipped 0.10% and the Nasdaq slid 0.33%. 
  • Meanwhile, the Hang Seng was down 0.22% and London’s FTSE 100 slipped 0.03%.
