By the end of the trading session on 23 April 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed higher by 1.33% and settled at 7,920.50. All of the 11 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Energy and Information Technology are the top-gaining sectors, gaining 4.40% and 3.20% in their index values.

Paladin Energy Limited (ASX: PDN) and Clarity Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: CU6) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 25.628% and 16.343% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Ramelius Resources Limited (ASX: RMS) and Spartan Resources Limited (ASX: SPR) are the top-losing stocks, losing 13.096% and 11.454% in their stock prices.
