Security Guarantee Release Expected to Improve Working Capital

Corporate Travel Management announced on 20 October 2026 that the International Air Transport Association (IATA) had released its AU$65 million security guarantee and restored the company’s previous settlement arrangements. The guarantee and revised settlement terms were temporary measures introduced in December 2025 while the company finalised its FY25 financial statements. The return to the earlier arrangements is expected to improve working capital by approximately AU$30 million.

Managing Director and Group CEO Ana Pedersen described the decision as an important milestone following the completion of IATA’s latest financial assessment. The company also confirmed that its services continued without disruption during the period, with ticketing and travel arrangements maintained for clients.

Rare Earths Projects Advance with High-Grade Results

Brazilian Rare Earths released its September 2026 quarterly activities report on 20 October 2026, highlighting progress at its Monte Alto and Sulista projects in Brazil. Monte Alto’s mineral resource grades 11.3% total rare earth oxides (TREO), while an integrated Monte Alto–Camaçari scoping study outlined a projected after-tax net present value of US$6.0 billion and an internal rate of return of 90% under the stated pricing assumptions. These remain preliminary study estimates and are not guaranteed outcomes.

Drilling also extended mineralisation beyond the existing resource boundaries, with an updated Monte Alto resource estimate planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. At Sulista South, high-grade mineralisation was identified across approximately 500 metres of strike. The company also produced its first rare earth concentrate at the Camaçari pilot facility and secured partner funding covering 59% of the expected costs of Stage II hydrometallurgical pilot work.

First-Quarter Trading Update Shows Early Improvement

Bapcor issued its annual general meeting and trading update on 22 October 2026. The company reported that first-quarter FY27 sales in its Trade segment increased 2.5% year on year, including like-for-like growth of 1.6%. Sales across its Networks businesses rose 4.1%, while group like-for-like sales increased 0.5% on a constant-currency basis.

Retail conditions remained challenging due to cost-of-living pressures and weaker discretionary spending. Gross margins improved in both Trade and Retail following pricing initiatives, while net debt declined by AU$19 million to AU$116 million at 30 September 2026. Management reaffirmed its FY27 outlook and said turnaround initiatives were beginning to gain traction.

Conclusion

The three announcements highlight distinct developments: improved working capital prospects, continued rare earths project advancement and better operating trends in the automotive aftermarket. Investors will be watching for further execution progress, exploration updates and evidence that these improvements can be sustained.
