Infinity Mining Limited (ASX: IMI) has announced the discovery of stibnite (antimony sulphide) mineralisation at its Walhalla South Extended Project (EL 7356) in eastern Victoria. The mineralisation occurs in rock samples containing stibnite and quartz, now sent to ALS Laboratories for assay testing for antimony, gold, and other elements.
The discovery is associated with a distinct circular magnetic anomaly interpreted as a sub-vertical intrusion, typical of Intrusion-Related Gold Systems (IRGS). EL 7356 lies about 100 km southeast of Southern Cross Gold’s Sunday Creek Project (ASX: SX2), which hosts significant high-grade IRGS-style gold and antimony deposits. The project area is also near historical gold workings such as the Walhalla Goldfield. Managing Director Joe Phillips described the find as a promising development, citing rising antimony prices and strong demand for critical minerals as key drivers supporting expanded exploration at EL 7356 in the coming weeks.
