Atlantic Lithium Limited (ASX: A11) has entered into a definitive agreement with Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt for a proposed full acquisition of the company through a scheme arrangement. The offer values Atlantic Lithium at around US$210 million, with shareholders expected to receive US$0.25486 per share in cash. The proposed price represents a notable premium compared to the company’s recent market performance.
The agreement strengthens confidence in the Ewoyaa Lithium Project in Ghana, which is expected to play an important role in supplying lithium to the fast-growing electric vehicle and battery storage industries. According to the company, the proposal delivers a more secure and timely pathway for shareholder value creation when compared with alternative development strategies amid uncertain lithium market conditions. Atlantic Lithium’s Board has unanimously backed the transaction, and major shareholder Assore has also expressed support. The acquisition remains subject to shareholder, court, and regulatory approvals, with completion targeted for December 2026.
