Australian Silica Quartz Group Advances White Swan Toward Production
Australian Silica Quartz Group Limited (ASX: ASQ) is progressing its flagship White Swan Kaolin Project in Western Australia toward production. White Swan contains an estimated 47.3 million tonnes of Inferred kaolin resources, with regulatory clearance secured for a direct-shipping operation capable of handling up to 250,000 tonnes annually. Its location, around 35 km by sealed road from the Port of Esperance, provides a notable logistics advantage.
Preliminary testwork has strengthened White Swan’s development potential. An 800 kg bulk sample recorded 47% kaolinite, low iron content of 0.30%, and fired brightness of 85.3% at 1,200°C. Secondary dry-separation testwork increased kaolinite content to 83%, while samples have been provided to potential customers and processors in China.
Over the next 12 months, ASQ plans further product characterisation, bulk sampling, offtake negotiations, infill drilling and a feasibility study ahead of a potential mining decision.
