AVITA Medical Improves Operating Performance as Wound Care Portfolio Gains Traction
AVITA Medical, Inc. (ASX: AVH) delivered improved second-quarter performance as stronger product adoption and disciplined expenditure supported revenue growth and narrower losses. Total revenue increased 18% to US$21.7 million, driven by higher contributions from Cohealyx, RECELL GO mini and recovering RECELL utilisation following reimbursement clarity. Gross profit rose 19% to US$17.8 million, while operating expenses declined 6% to US$24.6 million, reducing the operating loss by 39% to US$6.9 million. The net loss narrowed 23% to US$7.7 million. Commercial progress included positive Cohealyx clinical findings, regulatory authorisations for RECELL GO in Australia and New Zealand, and encouraging initial clinical use in the United Kingdom. AVITA also secured a ten-year BARDA agreement with potential value of up to US$25.5 million. However, cash, equivalents and marketable securities totalled US$11.1 million, and management identified substantial doubt regarding the Company’s ability to continue as a going concern without additional liquidity over the coming twelve months.
