Bowen Coking Coal Ltd (ASX: BCB) will transition the Burton Mine Complex to an owner-operator model starting 1 July 2025, following the conclusion of its mining services agreement with BUMA Australia Pty Ltd on 30 June 2025. This strategic move aligns with Bowen’s goal to enhance operational control, reduce mining costs, and support production growth across its broader asset base, including Plumtree North, Isaac, and Lenton pits.
The change is expected to boost productivity, operational flexibility, and internal capability, laying a strong foundation for future expansion. Emeco International will provide a fully maintained fleet, while Mining Pro will support production operations during the transition. Bowen aims for a seamless handover with minimal production disruption and will recruit additional staff to support its experienced team. The company remains committed to stakeholders and will provide updates on the transition, with the next update due in its June 2025 quarterly report.
