BSP Strengthens Technology Leadership with New CIO Appointment
Bank South Pacific (ASX: BFL) has appointed Ray Naicker as its Group Chief Information Officer, reinforcing its focus on advancing technology capabilities across Papua New Guinea and the South Pacific. Naicker brings over two decades of experience from Nedbank Group, where he held senior digital and technology leadership roles, including Group CIO and Chief Digital Officer. His track record includes driving digital transformation initiatives and enhancing enterprise-wide technology strategies.
Reporting to CEO Mark Robinson, Naicker will play a key role in modernising BSP’s technology infrastructure and supporting long-term growth. The appointment highlights the bank’s emphasis on leveraging innovation, including artificial intelligence, to improve customer service, risk management, and operational performance. As part of the transition, current CIO Richard Nicholls will shift to overseeing the rollout of BSP’s new core banking platform across Pacific markets. Naicker’s appointment remains subject to regulatory approval and is expected to take effect in the third quarter of 2026.
