Challenger Reports Strong First Half FY26 with Record Annuity Growth and Solid Earnings.
Challenger Limited (ASX: CGF) delivered a robust financial performance for the six months ended 31 December 2025, supported by disciplined execution and continued demand for retirement income solutions. The Group reported statutory net profit after tax of AU$338.7 million, reflecting favourable asset performance and stable operating fundamentals. Normalised net profit after tax increased to AU$228.9 million, while normalised basic earnings per share rose to 33.3 cents, highlighting steady underlying earnings momentum.
The Life division was the primary growth driver, achieving record annuity sales of AU$3.8 billion and total Life sales of AU$5.1 billion. Growth was driven by strong domestic annuity demand, institutional mandates, and expansion in offshore reinsurance. The Funds Management business also improved profitability, supported by higher net fee income and disciplined cost management despite softer funds under management. Challenger maintained a strong capital position and declared a fully franked interim dividend of 15.5 cents per share, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable shareholder returns and long-term growth in retirement income markets.
