Cue Forms Independent Committee to Review Horizons Takeover Proposal
Cue Energy Resources Limited (ASX: CUE) has acknowledged Horizon Oil Limited’s intention to proceed with an off-market takeover offer for all Cue shares it does not already own. The proposed consideration includes AU$0.008 in cash plus 0.5625 Horizon shares for each Cue share.
In response, Cue’s board has established an Independent Board Committee comprising its independent directors to assess the merits of the proposal. The committee, supported by external advisers, is currently reviewing the offer and will provide shareholders with a formal recommendation in a target’s statement once the bidder’s documentation is received.
Shareholders have been advised not to take any action at this stage. The takeover offer, once formally dispatched, must remain open for at least one month, giving investors sufficient time to evaluate their options. Cue is an ASX-listed oil and gas producer with assets in Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, reporting first-half FY26 revenue of $25.7 million from its producing fields.
