EQ Resources Progresses Barruecopardo Mine Access to Support Higher-Grade Tungsten Production
EQ Resources Limited (ASX: EQR) has advanced operational activities at its Barruecopardo tungsten mine in Spain, taking a significant step toward accessing higher-grade ore zones within the open pit. The company has begun transferring water from the lower pit to a newly completed Northern In-Pit Sump, a key infrastructure development designed to improve water management and restore mining access to Phase 5.
The water relocation program is expected to facilitate the extraction of approximately 1.03 million tonnes of planned ore grading 0.187% WO₃. This section of the mine has historically delivered some of the highest-grade material processed at the operation. The newly constructed sump can accommodate around 120,000 cubic metres of water, providing sufficient capacity to support ongoing pit dewatering activities. Mining operations continue in other active sections of the open pit while the water transfer proceeds. Management expects ore from Phase 5 to become available for processing by the end of June 2026, supporting a stronger feed profile for the processing plant. The development represents an important operational milestone as EQ Resources works to enhance production efficiency and maximise the value of its tungsten assets in Spain and Australia.
