Invictus Energy Locks in November Drilling Timeline for High-Impact Musuma-1 Well
Invictus Energy (ASX: IVZ) has confirmed that the Musuma-1 exploration well in Zimbabwe will commence drilling in November 2026 after finalising a revised drilling agreement with Exalo Drilling S.A. The updated contract secures Rig 202 and establishes the schedule for the upcoming campaign, while associated rig maintenance, logistics, and mobilisation activities are already progressing. The company also plans to begin wellpad construction shortly after completing customary community engagement activities.
Preparations for the drilling program are advancing on several fronts. Invictus has substantially completed technical and commercial assessments for essential well services, with contract awards expected soon. Following these awards, equipment and personnel will be mobilised to support the drilling campaign. The Musuma-1 prospect is considered a major exploration opportunity, targeting an estimated unrisked prospective resource of 1.2 trillion cubic feet of gas and 73 million barrels of condensate. Located outside the Mukuyu discovery area, the well is expected to test a new geological play and could significantly expand the resource potential of the Cabora Bassa Basin if successful.
