Madagascar Strengthens Support for AKORAs Bekisopa High-Grade Iron Ore Project.
AKORA Resources (ASX: AKO) has secured strong backing from Madagascar’s new leadership as it advances its Bekisopa high-grade iron ore project toward a Mining Licence. After submitting the application, Managing Director Peter Bird met key officials, including His Excellency Colonel Lucien Rabearimanana and Mines Minister Carl Andriamparany, both of whom reaffirmed the project’s national economic and social importance. Their endorsement highlights confidence in Bekisopa’s transition from exploration to mining.
With the reopening of Madagascar’s mining licence framework, the project is positioned to move from its DSO start-up phase toward a long-term, high-grade concentrate operation supported by a substantial exploration target. Securing the Mining Licence will enable strategic investment discussions, detailed feasibility planning and expanded community engagement, marking a pivotal step in unlocking significant long-term value.
