Nelson Resources Acquires High-Grade Gold-Silver Project in Nevadas Premier Walker Lane District
Nelson Resources Limited (ASX: NES) has secured an agreement that allows it to acquire up to a 90% stake in the high-grade Gold Point Gold-Silver Project, situated in the prestigious Walker Lane District of Nevada, USA. This transaction is a key development, as it represents the first time in more than 140 years that the entire Gold Point mining district will be under the control of a single owner.
The project spans 31 km², covering 195 federal lode claims and 7 patented lode claims, and is situated in a region with a substantial gold and silver endowment, including the world-class Goldfield and Bullfrog deposits. Historically, the district produced approximately 75,000 ounces of gold at impressive grades of 20–30g/t, yet the majority of the mineralisation remains untested. The project also features over 5 km of underground workings, allowing for direct sampling of remnant mineralisation. With high-grade surface sampling results, including assays of up to 64.6g/t Au, the Gold Point Project offers significant discovery potential. Nelson is fully funded for aggressive exploration activities, including underground LiDAR surveys, geophysical studies, and systematic sampling, with drilling planned for early Q2 2026.
