Nine Entertainment Co. Accelerates Strategic Transformation
Nine Entertainment Co. (ASX: NEC) has revealed a comprehensive strategy to reshape its business, with a focus on delivering sustainable value for its shareholders over the long term. This includes acquiring QMS Media for AU$850 million, divesting its radio assets, and restructuring its regional television operations by converting NBN (Northern NSW) into an affiliate with WIN Network. These moves will drive Nine's digital growth, with over 60% of its revenue projected to come from digital assets by FY27, up from 45% in FY25.
The acquisition of QMS Media strengthens Nine's outdoor media presence, particularly in the high-growth digital sector. It offers significant synergies and is expected to be EPS accretive. The sale of Nine Radio, valued at AU$56 million, and the affiliate agreement with WIN will streamline Nine’s portfolio, further focusing on metro markets and digital expansion. These changes are part of Nine's broader transition towards a digitally-focused, growth-driven media company
