Rimfire Strengthens Leadership and Secures Fresh Funding to Accelerate Scandium Growth
Rimfire Pacific Mining (ASX: RIM) has unveiled a refreshed leadership structure alongside a successful AU$2.3 million capital raising, marking a significant step in advancing its scandium development strategy. Announced on 7 August 2026, the company appointed experienced mining executive Bronwyn Barnes as Executive Chair, effective 1 September 2026, while Ian McCubbing will transition to Non-Executive Director and David Hutton will assume the role of Technical Director. The placement, priced at 0.8 cents per share, attracted strong support from professional investors, with directors and management collectively committing AU$580,000, underscoring confidence in the company's long-term vision.
The proceeds will fund expanded drilling campaigns, metallurgical studies, resource growth initiatives and general working capital as Rimfire advances its scandium portfolio. The company believes rising global demand for scandium, driven by applications across advanced manufacturing, AI infrastructure, aerospace, defence and clean energy, presents a compelling growth opportunity. Backed by strengthened technical expertise, renewed commercial leadership and fresh capital, Rimfire aims to accelerate project development while pursuing strategic partnerships to position itself as a leading Australian scandium developer.
