Southern Cross Gold Extends High-Grade Gold-Antimony Discovery at Sunday Creek
Southern Cross Gold Consolidated Ltd (ASX: SX2) has reported encouraging drill results from six infill holes at the Upper Golden Dyke prospect within its 100%-owned Sunday Creek Gold-Antimony Project in Victoria. The standout intercept returned 7.9 metres at 19.9 g/t AuEq, including 3.7 metres at 37.5 g/t AuEq, confirming the presence of high-grade gold and antimony mineralisation in the shallow portion of the system. Drilling also identified four new vein sets, extended known mineralised structures, and reinforced the geological continuity of the deposit, supporting confidence in future resource growth and mining studies.
The latest drilling strengthens the project's strategic significance by confirming substantial antimony enrichment near surface, a critical mineral widely used in defence and semiconductor applications. Individual assays returned antimony grades of up to 47.0% Sb, while the project has now recorded 108 composite intersections exceeding 10% antimony and 88 composite intersections above 100 g/t Au. With 69 drill holes awaiting assay results, 11 active drill rigs, and an ongoing 200,000-metre drilling program through Q1 2027, Southern Cross Gold remains well positioned to further expand the scale and value of the Sunday Creek discovery.
