WA Kaolin Strengthens Balance Sheet Through Recapitalisation
WA Kaolin Limited (ASX: WAK) has successfully completed its entitlement offer and recapitalisation initiative, significantly strengthening its financial position. The company raised approximately AU$6.0 million in cash before costs while reducing debt by around AU$10.13 million, resulting in a total balance sheet improvement of nearly AU$16.1 million. Major shareholders supported the offer through both cash subscriptions and debt-to-equity conversions, highlighting continued confidence in the company’s long-term strategy.
The recapitalisation forms part of WA Kaolin’s broader plan to enhance operational stability and improve production efficiency at its Wickepin Project in Western Australia. The company is focusing on initiatives such as wear reduction, dust protection upgrades, and waste recovery projects to improve kaolin yield and minimise downtime. WA Kaolin is also targeting higher production throughput of approximately 6,000 tonnes per month while pursuing premium market opportunities across ceramics, coatings, paper, and specialty applications.
