Whitebark Energy Confirms Significant Hydrocarbon Potential in Officer Basin

Whitebark Energy Limited (ASX: WBE) has received an independent review from Fluid Energy Consultants confirming the substantial hydrocarbon potential of its PEL 253 and PEL 81 permits in South Australia’s Officer Basin, including the giant Rickerscote Prospect. Fluid assessed PEL 81’s 3U prospective resources at 4.3 Tcf of gas and 1.3 billion barrels of liquids, with Whitebark’s 70% share equating to 2.9 Tcf and 844 million barrels of liquids. Rickerscote, the largest structure in the acreage, carries a 2U prospective resource of 1.06 Tcf of gas and 145 million barrels of liquids (707 Bcf gas and 97 million barrels of liquids net to WBE).

Nearby prospects Milford and Milford East collectively hold a 2U resource of 58 Bcf gas and 181 million barrels of liquids, with WBE’s share at 39 Bcf gas and 121 million barrels. With robust reservoir, seal, and source rock characteristics, Whitebark is well-positioned to unlock the Officer Basin as a potential major hydrocarbon hub supporting Australia’s energy security and transition.
