Highlights:

  • FY26 revenue increased 11% to AU$665 million, while EBITDA rose 17% to AU$21.9 million.
  • Management maintained its FY27 EBITDA target of AU$33 million to AU$40 million, signalling stronger expected profitability.
  • Artificial intelligence, exclusive product ranges and national marketing expansion remain central to the company’s growth strategy.

Temple & Webster Group Ltd (ASX: TPW) attracted strong investor attention on 23 October 2026, with its shares rising sharply following the company’s FY26 Annual General Meeting (AGM) presentation. The online furniture and homewares retailer outlined its growth strategy, operational improvements and financial outlook, highlighting its focus on profitability, artificial intelligence (AI) and expanding its market presence. The stock was last quoted at AU$4.870, up AU$0.799 or 19.656% on the day, according to the supplied market data.

Record Revenue and Improved Profitability

Temple & Webster reported record revenue of AU$665 million for FY26, representing an 11% increase from the previous corresponding period. EBITDA climbed 17% to AU$21.9 million, delivering a margin of 3.3%. Excluding significant items and unrealised foreign exchange losses, EBITDA reached AU$25.9 million, up 28% year on year.

The company also maintained a strong balance sheet, with AU$123 million in cash as of 30 June 2026, following a AU$30 million share buyback. Management highlighted the importance of disciplined capital allocation, investments in technology and returning surplus capital to shareholders.

FY27 Earnings Target Remains on Track

Management reiterated its FY27 EBITDA guidance of AU$33 million to AU$40 million, representing potential growth of approximately 50% to 80% compared with FY26.

However, the trading update indicated that financial year-to-date revenue was down 8% against the previous corresponding period, while contribution margin dollars increased 16%. The company attributed the improving profitability trajectory to its evolving strategy and better unit economics. Temple & Webster expects to return to growth from late February 2027, when comparisons with the previous year’s promotional activity become more consistent.

AI and Exclusive Products Drive Growth Strategy

The company is increasing its investment in AI-powered personalisation, marketing and operational automation. Its presentation highlighted a 56% increase in conversion rates from AI-powered complementary product recommendations and a 12% increase in traffic from personalised product recommendations in email campaigns.

Temple & Webster is also prioritising higher-quality exclusive products and private-label ranges. Tests in its linen category delivered an 8% revenue increase and an 11% year-on-year improvement in delivered margin.

Additionally, the company plans to expand its national brand campaign after testing in Brisbane generated a 7% revenue lift against control markets.

Conclusion

Temple & Webster’s share price rally reflects investor attention to its earnings growth potential and strategic initiatives. While the company faces near-term revenue pressures, its FY27 EBITDA guidance, AI investments and focus on margins remain key developments to monitor.
