Audio Pixels Holdings Limited (ASX: AKP) has announced a significant technological breakthrough in the commercialisation of its solid-state digital loudspeaker platform. The company has successfully developed an independent MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) fabrication process, overcoming previous challenges that hindered the precision required for its second-generation MEMS transducer array. Despite extensive collaboration with world-class foundry partners, achieving the necessary manufacturing precision had been unattainable until now. The newly developed process has proven reliable, repeatable, and scalable, meeting the demanding specifications of the device while surpassing expectations in several critical performance areas. With the successful establishment of this robust process flow, Audio Pixels is now advancing the production of additional wafers. The company has shifted focus to quantifying the acoustic performance of the devices, although additional time is needed to complete comprehensive acoustic characterisation due to the complexity of testing on bare wafers. This achievement paves the way for the next phase of product development.
